The Hottest Home Trends of 2025!!
Nobody’s really saying this out loud… but the biggest home trends of 2025?
They have basically nothing to do with granite countertops or shiplap anymore. The stuff buyers are actually getting excited about right now is… honestly kinda surprising.
So Realtor.com dropped this new report:
First off, everyone’s going green. Like, actually green.
WaterSense fixture mentions are up almost 290%.
That’s basically buyers saying, “Hey, I want lower bills and I’m tired of wasting water.” And honestly? Same. Then you’ve got homes that are net-zero ready, which is just a fancy way of saying “built so efficiently that adding solar turns the place into an energy superstar.” Those mentions doubled. With how bananas energy demand is right now (thanks, AI data centers) this isn’t a shock.
EV charging? Up 92%.
Outdoor low-voltage lighting? Also blowing up.
People aren’t just thinking about curb appeal. They’re thinking about efficiency, long-term costs, and, yeah… being able to plug in the car without running an extension cord across the garage.
Another trend:
Buyers want nature inside their house. “Biophilic” or indoor-outdoor living is up 163%. Think giant sliding doors, little courtyard moments, sunlight everywhere. Basically, homes that don’t feel like boxes you’re trapped in. And luxury buyers are doing their own thing. Coastal modern is exploding: think bright, airy, beachy. Aged metal accents, backlit stone and all the dramatic, Pinterest-core details are also in right now. Smart home features are climbing too. Hardwired ethernet, automated lighting scenes, built-in coffee systems.
Buyers want homes that just… work. Without having to retrofit everything after they move in.
But here’s the real twist, and honestly, it kinda checks out:
People care way less about more space and way more about better living.
Energy efficiency. Nature vibes. Smarter layouts. Materials that feel good, not just look good. It’s not about square footage anymore; it’s about how the space actually feels when you’re in it.
